Isolation rubber bearings exhibit all the excellent performance characteristics of plate bearings, yet they surpass them with superior isolation capabilities, effectively mitigating earthquake-induced damages to bridges. High damping rubber bearings, a specialized type of isolation rubber bearing, are crafted from advanced high damping rubber materials, achieving an impressive damping ratio of 10% to 16%. Their design and structure mirror that of natural rubber bearings, but with the added advantage of high viscosity rubber material, enabling self-energy absorption and remarkable ductility. These bearings can extend the natural vibration period of structures during seismic events, reduce seismic forces, and utilize their energy dissipation properties to serve as seismic isolators, achieving the performance caliber of lead core sandwich rubber bearings.
Employing high damping composite rubber material instead of a lead core, and fine-tuning the proportion of filling material to modify the overall damping, these bearings boast substantial energy consumption capabilities, optimizing isolation reduction. High damping rubber bearings deliver stable performance, robust energy dissipation, and exceptional ductility.
